Also, at the time, that user did not have MFA turned on. In the instances that this occurs the effected user is not new to MFA but has been running it for at least months. The problem appears to randomly affect users (I’ve had it affect myself once too), and the only solution appears to one of (or a combination of) the options in the OP. Out of 140 staff the problem seems to occur once every 2-3 weeks on average.

Please help can't afford a new computer if I throw this one against the wall. Yeap, you describe it exactly and unfortunately we still don’t have an answer. Closed the window without entering anything and Outlook returned to ‘Connected to Exchange’. Office 2016 is already Modern Authentication aware so APP passwords are not required.

Microsoft Office 365 Endless Authentication Loop Issue

I even tried disabling my anti -virus while authenticating, that didn't work.We too have been seeing this more and more, all W10 on O365, although we use Okta as our MFA.Microsoft Outlook 2016 and some recent builds of Outlook 2013 are not affected by this issue. If this box is greyed out or disabled then you need to reset the Windows Credential Manager first.Unfortunately when the problem occurs they’ve asked us to ring straight away but of course you can never get them instantly (we’ve just been given someone’s direct number now).We had the issue where Outlook 2016 kept prompting for a password for an Office 365 user whose laptop was connected to their Office 365 account using Windows 10 Pro.The repeated issue logging in started after I enabled the modern authentication in the Office 365 administration panel. In fact if you just turned on MFA and you were not using MFA before you usually end up having to rebuild the profile and clearing the credential manager.

In each case the fix has either been one of the above items or a combination of them. There doesn’t appear to be any pattern to the issue occurring or the problem being limited to any specific computer or user. By chatting and providing personal info, you understand and agree to our Terms of [recreate Outlook profile step by step](https://gitlab.mpeeo.com:443/wilmawimmer92/outlook-stuck-on-synchronizing-folders2003/-/issues/1) Service and Privacy Policy. I disabled the Zoom and Adobe PDF plugins and it stopped prompting me immediately. My client’s Outlook will only continuously ask for the password after MFA is enforced and Office.com has been logged in. It would be nice if it distinguished between your password and the app password.

I do NOT have this issue with the other laptop, an iPad, a MacBook Pro and [FixTechGuide mailbox repair steps](https://ashok.websitedemourl.com/read-blog/10902_outlook-continually-prompts-for-password-when-you-try-to-connect-to-microsoft-36.html) tablet. So figuring that was the same issue here, I did the same thing. I'm also getting Error 29, which the MS support rep couldn't explain to me. I even tried disabling my anti -virus while authenticating, that didn't work.

You can reply to reactivate the question if you decide you want to continue. Let's [recreate Outlook profile step by step](https://gitlab-ce.apps.openshift4.positiva.gov.co/lorriemacintos) start by answering a few simple questions to understand the problem. We have been experiencing the exact same issue for months now. I experience the issue myself as well, every once in a while. On the off chance that none of these things solve this issue for you, please contact our support team at
